Celea’s Story: 

Celea is a very quiet and shy girl, but she has shared with us some of her life dreams. When she grows up she wants to be an engineer so that she can help her parents and brothers. Currently, Celea lives in an old shack.  She is a first grader in public school and her favorite subject is Math.  Her favorite color is blue and she like to eat fish soup; however, her usual meal is rice and beans.  She says she would like to eat chicken, fruits, and other types of food, but it is very hard for her family to afford them.

Celea’s father Juan Segovia works as a watchman and earns $105 a month.  Her mother Mirna works sweeping the public streets.  They all live together in a one-room house made out of scrap wood that they received from neighbors.
